How We Can Help
Through the provision of long-term enablement activities, clients are helped to redevelop independent living, social and communication skills and to achieve their personal goals. The enablement activities help survivors to maintain or improve their cognitive abilities damaged during the injury.
Headway Plymouth’s primary objective is to provide support to survivors of traumatic brain injury, help them to come to terms with the changes in their lives and to learn to live as independently as possible.
Whilst the main focus of Headway is to support clients towards an independent life, the centre also provides a safe environment for clients to socialise with other survivors of brain injury and build relationships, to relax and be themselves. Attendance at the centre can also mean respite for the clients’ families or carers.
