Tuesday
It wasn’t great weather today, but some of the Headway Plymouth clients ventured out on an informative walk around Devonport Park with Elliott and Laura, from Plymouth Green Communities. I was particularly interested in the composting facilities that had been acquired via crowdfunding, which are proving to be extremely beneficial for the Friends of Devonport Park, as the soil is then contained within the park, which then helps to avoid disease.

Friday
Today Headway welcomed Kelly, who guided clients through a relaxing session on how to make essential aromatherapy oils and the positive benefits that they can have on your health, depending on which medication a client is on. I chose wild orange instead of lemon, and myrrh instead of lavender. Apparently, it’s best to have both a calming oil and a zesty one when mixing, to balance out the effect the oils have on you once blended. Coconut oil was then added as a base oil at the end of the process. We also learned that mint is beneficial for retaining information, so I’ll continue chewing my mint chewing gum!
